Container sizes
- 20' container: about 28 CBM usable, good for heavy goods
- 40' container: about 58 CBM
- 40' high cube: about 68 CBM, the most common for light, bulky goods
When LCL makes sense
For shipments up to roughly 13–15 CBM you pay only for the space you use. The trade-off is time: LCL cargo is consolidated at origin and separated again at destination, which adds days at each end.
When FCL makes sense
Above about 13–15 CBM a 20' container is usually cheaper than LCL. FCL is also faster, sealed at the factory, and handled less, so there is less risk of damage. If you have several suppliers, we can consolidate them into one FCL at our origin warehouse.
